Last Year of the Newark Fresh Healthy Food Access Grant

Since the Newark Fresh, Healthy Food Access Grant program’s launch in 2017, Whole Cities has awarded more than $1 million to 34 organizations broadening long-term access to healthy food and nutrition education across Newark’s 5 wards.  

As Whole Cities’ programmatic work evolves,  2025 will be our last year offering the Newark Fresh Healthy Food Access Grant. To provide additional support in this transitional year, we will be offering grant writing, business development, and bookkeeping training to organizations serving Newark.

We know this will represent a big change for some, and we want to hear from you. You will see a question in the application that asks how we could best support this transition for your organization (if we can take action on your suggestion and do it well, we will!), but we always welcome you to reach out to our team (grants@wholecitiesfoundation.org) if you would like to discuss one on one.
